The Edina Soccer Association began in 1974, primarily as a boys program offering leagues for 3rd and 4th graders, 5th and 6th graders, 7th and 8th graders and 9th through 12 graders.  The few girls that played then were simply added to the boys’ teams.

The traveling program (now known as ESC) began in the early 1980’s and consisted of two girls’ teams and two boys’ teams.

Original families organizing the ESA were the Kapsali’s and the Grauze’s.

We are now one of the largest youth recreational soccer associations in the country with over 5,000 athletes participating in our year round programs; 400+ parent volunteers; 14 Board of Directors, 70 youth referees and numerous local partners.
